Trinda Blackmore joins Athena International Management Limited, a Cayman Islands-based company licensed by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority to provide independent directors to alternative investment funds and investment management companies. Trinda has over sixteen years’ experience in financial services giving her expertise in legal structures and operations of hedge and private equity funds, various complex hedge fund strategies, and extensive knowledge of the regulatory framework of offshore jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda. She has a background in audit, accounting and fund administration.
Prior to joining Athena, Trinda was the Chief Operating Officer of Admiral Administration, a Maitland company, where she was responsible for Operations overseeing Fund Accounting and Shareholder Services for over 300 funds across 90 relationships. Before Admiral, Trinda spent five years at Fortis Prime Fund Solutions where she progressed to Head of Fund Accounting and was responsible for a team of forty people administering 350 hedge funds. Prior to moving to the Cayman Islands, Trinda spent three years in audit and business advisory services with Grant Thornton in Canada.
Trinda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Canada in 2002. She has also successfully completed the Institute of Chartered Secretaries' Accredited Directors education program. Trinda is a permanent resident of the Cayman Islands and has resided there since 2003.
